Why am I doing this?

Good question and to be honest, I’m not really sure. Firstly as I’m sure you’ve learnt from my About page, its always been a dream of mine to have a blog. I think the dream stemmed from a desire to write in some way that was for others to consume. I really have no idea why this attracted me, perhaps my deisre to replicate writers I liked, provide enjoyment to others or probably prove home smart I am. Despite this desire to write, I realised that I had not written much before and if I was serious about doing it I would need to get into a daily practie of writing and feeling comfortable sharing my thoughts, feelings and idea without it being a big deal. Just before I started thinking about it seriously I heard about Richard Herring’s daily blog on the podcast What did you do yesterday which Richard has been writing since Nov 2002. I thought it was a good enough idea to steal be inspired by. Also coincidentally around the same time I also heard about Mike Birbiglia’s famous “Secret Public Journal” a similar idea which I discuss about on my blog post on June 18th 2026.

Any guiding rules?

This page also contains some rules on what I want to write in my daily blog and perhaps more importantly what I don’t want to write. I’ll try to hold myself accountable to these but if you ever feel I have failed in my duties please reach out to me from my email on the :Contact page. Ok here are the rules (which were also heaivly “inspired” by Richard Herring)

  • I will try to keep these posts as anonymous as possible. So apologies if things seem weirdly vague sometimes or are oddly written because I don’t want to mention specifics. I care about my privacy.
  • I would also like to extend the same privacy to the people I write about so I will never use names unless these people are already known in public life like celebreties.
  • While I want them to be anonymous I would still like to share things about myself but I hope most of it would be things I would feel comfortable discussing in normal day to day conversations.
  • In other words I don’t want to this to become a therapy session with the world so I will try my best to avoid overly emotional or personal topics
  • the goal is to be pretty minimal effort so please don’t be disappointed with spelling mistakes, poor writing and maybe some incredibly boring, rambling posts.
  • I’ll try to always write one each day, but sometimes I will let them bank up and write a couple on the same day but I will also try to be honest if this is the case.

That’s it for the time being. The rest will be revealed in due time. This rules may be changed at anytime.
