I had an incredibly full day today.
I had my first shift volunteering walking dogs in an animal shelter. It was really nice and fun to meet some cute beautiful dogs. However it can also be challenging because you see the difficult conditions that they live in and all the struggles that they have which can be hard to see. I should also clarify that the difficult conditions is not due to the staff who run the shelter, they do an amazing job. It’s more the case of them being looked after by government institution, not a loving family.
The other thing I had after work was a singles night. It was OK, I’ve been to a few of these things now and I must admit they are pretty hit and miss. Nothing major came out of last night but I’m still glad I went just to meet some new people. I’m not sure if I will go again anytime soon, we’ll see how bored I get.
